Just Want to be Happy Being You?

Don’t Want to be a Model? Just Want to be Happy Being You?

Are you sick of all of the media and advertisement hype that says, ‘to be happy and successful, you need to be thin’?  So what they are really saying is ‘if you don’t have a stomach that looks like this:

Who wants to be a model?

then sorry but obviously you……….

  • Cannot be successful
  • Cannot be happy
  • Cannot be confident
  • Cannot be attractive or sexy
  • Do not care about yourself
  • Do not have any discipline or willpower
  • Have absolutely no motivation
  • Eat too much
  • Are just too lazy!’

Even though you know logically that the statements above are absolute B.S., do you still fall into the trap of thinking that unless you have a flat stomach you aren’t all that you could be?  Again, logically you know that you may never be a model, appear on the catwalk or appear on the front cover of Vogue but still you illogically and emotionally get caught up in the hype and you keep striving to be thin.

YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

The beauty, weight loss and fashion industry is worth billions every year because we want to look like TV stars, movie stars, models, and singers.  As a society we are aspiring to become someone else.

Who are you aspiring to look like, feel like, or be?

WHY? WHY? WHY?

Have you ever thought about aspiring to become a better version of YOU?

Isn’t it time that you stopped allowing the messages from society, the media and advertising to affect your decision making, self-esteem and confidence?

You are the only version of YOU on this planet!

YOU ARE UNIQUE!

This is something to acknowledge and celebrate.

If you are unique then you can become whoever and whatever you want to be!

Becoming a better version of you is about accepting and improving who you are on the inside and naturally the outside will follow.

Confidence, self belief, and pride are much more attractive than being thin and wearing designer clothes.  Even if you were thin it doesn’t mean that you would be happy or successful or confident. Thinness does not = happiness.

What would make a better version of you?

Yes Being healthier
Yes
Feeling more energetic
Yes
Accepting yourself, flaws and all
Yes Self identity outside of weight and food
Yes Strong self belief
Yes Willingness to accept change
Yes Flexibility

If you are screaming (in your own head)

ACCEPT MYSELF, FLAWS AND ALL!  YOU’VE GOT TO BE MAD!

I CAN’T EVEN LOOK IN THE MIRROR! I CANNOT STAND THE SITE OF MY OWN BODY SO HOW CAN YOU TELL ME TO CELEBRATE SOMETHING I FIND DISGUSTING AND ACCEPT IT?

At this point, your anxiety is significantly increasing.  Do you want to know why?

FEAR

YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

Everyone is!

Everyone is afraid of change because you don’t know how it is going to alter aspects of your life.  The first step is to acknowledge that you are afraid of the unknown and then acknowledge your other fears:

  • You will not know who you are without the weight..what if it changes me?
  • You may lose your relationship, some family members, friends
  • You may try this program and fail again
  • You may try this program and actually succeed!
  • You may be noticed more be the opposite sex
  • The weight gives you an excuse to hide, what if you no longer have it, how are you going to shield yourself?
  • You don’t want to work hard to lose the weight
  • You don’t want to do all the hard work only to revert back and put on more weight
  • No one will support you and you feel all alone

These fears are your reality and they are your barriers and excuses. Throughout the Mind & Body Power program you will work through these.  Remember, you are not alone on this process.  You firstly have Me, Kellee, who has been there and had to work through all of this myself and I understand how hard it can be.  I am here for you, you just need to reach out.  You will also have other people just like you, on the program, who can provide support and advice.

This program and support will help you to gradually reduce your fear and remove them.

Come and join the Mind & Body Power community of people just like you, who want to:

  • move past their fears
  • start accepting themselves
  • improve their health
  • improve their relationships
  • find a weight that they feel good at (not model-like or unrealistic).

About

The Mind & Body Program is the brainchild of psychologist and fitness coach Kellee Waters. It is a free resource offered to Australian familes to help combat the growing trend of obesity within the community.

Our sixteen week program targets obesity from a psychological foundation, with an individual and family perspective combining nutrition, activity and skill based education. Our holistic approach not only addresses the problems associated with weight gain and bad eating habits but also aspects such as a lack of motivation and activity, family stresses and a large array of additional problems with obesity for both adults and children.
